Unique Knit Baby Blankets
A Great Gift for a Baby Handloomed by a Little Knitter
Just because it is in the One of a Kind Show Room, doesn't mean it is expensive!
The "Little Knitters" just love to knit - some of them are so young they have to stand while they knit baby blankets. |
The knit baby blanket above is knit by a nine year old Little Knitter. She knits slippers and scarves as well Every item a Little Knitter knits is closely supervised by the knitting instructor, Sharon Nani, so each item is inspected and is a professionally knit and assembled knit project that you would be proud to own or give as a gift.
Knit Baby Blankets are a creative knit lesson. The Little Knitter must pick out their yarn colors, select a knit stitch pattern, knit the swatch to obtain their stitch and row gauge, and finially take their first design charting lesson to draft the knit pattern for their special knit baby blanket. Alot of knitting skills are learned and applied to this knit baby blanket. |

Little Knitters Love to Knit Scarves in Color Blocks!
The Little Knitter at the left of this image is earning money for her 8th grade graduation trip to Washington DC by knitting and selling her knit fisherman rib scarves in a variety of colors. All are 3 color striped color blocks, some with silver metalic yarn or gold metalic yarn added to one of the colors. She even has her black red and white school spirit scarf, which the Little Knitters are offering to knit in any 3 colors of your choice. The Little Knitter on the right is weaving in all the yarn ends on her scarf. They know each scarf must be professionally finished so they can be proud of what they learned in knitting the scarves and having great fun putting colors together that they like. . |

"A glass of wine and a comfy Grape Cardi"
Relax and Enjoy!
This "Plumpious Grapes" Cardigan was designed by Sharon Nani for the knitters magazine "INKnitters" Winter 2004 Vol 4 No 15. The pattern for knitting this unique fabrication and garment along with a technical article written by Sharon explaining how to knit this 'blistered' tri-dimensional fabric on knitting machines can be found in that issue of INKnitters - the magazine is out of print now, but you may be able to get a back issue from Fiber Circle Publishing.
|
The Knit Tree will be offering these Articles written by Sharon Nani in a special category as time allows to convert them into Web language. So if you want, tackle knitting this Knit Cardigan yourself on a Passap Electronic knitting machine or translate to any electronic standard gauge machine. The original Cardi is no longer available in our Online Catalog in the One of a Kind Tops, but watch for other Wearable Art or Unique Knit garments.

"Carrots and Peas" - An Experimentation in Fibers and Textures!
Sharon Nani's design: "Carrots & Peas" was first published in a Swiss Knitting Model Book in 1994. The unique Tri-dimensional "blister" fabric became one of her design trademarks. Mixing several different fibers within a garment tells the story behind the motifs. Mercerized Cotton feels smooth like the peeling of the carrots or the shell of the peas. Rayon Boucle is bumpy and rough like the leaves of a carrot. It is all brought together with the glamour of the shine in the main background yarn. Together they all remind you of what your mother always told you: "Eat your Carrots and Peas"
